Z Fish Report (7/6/17)

Offshore (average) surface water temperature - Includes from the 5-6 mile mark at the 100 fathom line, then to the 1,000 fathom line being at 32 miles: 86°.

Inshore (average) surface temperature. From the beach to about 5 miles: 86°

Blue water: (Chlorophyll amounts and surface temps from Terrafin SST) Blue water from the beach to way out. There are still a few isolated inshore areas with discolored water, but less than last week. 

Offshore- The blue marlin bite is still holding, as well as some decent yellowfin tuna. Both are out beyond the normal sport fishing day rate, but within the 30-40 mile mark. The tuna are averaging 75-80 pounds.

And, much closer to shore, the annual July mini-migration of sailfish appears to be going. The boats are each averaging 3 to 4 sailfish a day.   

Inshore: The excellent roosterfish and large jack crevalle action is still holding up. Mark Horoupian fished with Jesus (Hay-sus) on the panga Dos Hermanos III for a nice rooster fishing the Pantla /Buena vista areas to the north.  

And Adolfo, with his clients went south to the Petatlan area, for 6 mixed sized roosters and several large jack crevalle. The difference was the roosters are preferring the live bait, and there were fewer bait stealing needle fish to the south.
